Your Candidate for Toorak Ward
As your candidate I will fight to stop the Council wasting your money and ensure the services we expect are delivered.

The Council is Wasting Money and You are Paying
The Council debt is over 53 percent of rates revenue.
The Council’s own budget has called into doubt it’s ability to meet its mandatory service obligations –
“The Council’s medium to long-term financial capacity is at some risk. This includes incorporating its ability to meet community service expectations…”
This means the council thinks there is a real risk it will not be able to collect your rubbish, improve our parks or fix potholes.
All we have is Council Waste.
Instead of decreasing rates, delivering common sense parking, or improve our parks and playgrounds – we have Council Waste.
The Council has a massive list of waste and project blowouts as outlined below
Toorak Village Footpath
$5.2 million over the original budget
($1.35m original budget in 21-22 budget papers compared to final budget allocation $6.5m 23-24 budget papers)
Prahran Market
$4.7 million over the original budget
($0.64m in 20-21 Budget papers) compare to $5.39m in 23-24 Budget papers)
Prahran Square
$65 million disaster
Computer Update
$15 million to improve computers and customer experience
(23-24 Budget Papers)
Toorak Park
$8.5 million over the original budget
($1.19m original allocation in 20-21 Budget Papers – final allocation $10.72mil in 23-34 Budget papers)
Making Sure Council Follows Plan
The Council spends $4 million per year, making sure it follows its own plan
